专辑简介
对于这次“自由之旅”，Akon很早就开始了宣传工作，他在发行专辑前去了12个城市做演出，并且还在网上举办了一个比赛，让歌迷各抒己见阐释“Freedom”对于他们的意义。
Akon对这张专辑的重视程度显而易见。
依然保持了自己特别的嗓音和一如寄望的悦耳旋律，但是在音乐制作上却与他之前2张R&B,Hip Hop和Reggae混合的专辑大相径庭，更多的欧洲派对音乐元素被引入了专辑，从整个2008年的多张主流嘻哈音乐专辑来看，这一变化也将成为整个 Hiphop音乐圈发展的大趋势，Rave-hop这个新的曲风在慢慢的浮出水面。先行单曲《Right Now (Na Na Na）》中的合成器音效清晰的验证了阿肯向欧洲电子舞曲靠拢的思路，这首实验性的单曲也在发出后的第一周便登上了Billboard流行歌曲100强榜单的第18名。除了《Right Now (Na Na Na）》，专辑还有多首类似的舞曲，比如《Keep You Much Longer》，T-pain跨刀的《Holla Holla》，《Troublemaker》以及《Beautiful》，Akon在这些为舞池人群准备的歌曲中给自己之前的风格彻彻底底的来了个大变脸。

其他值得一听的歌曲还有讲述“跌倒了就要勇敢站起来”的《Over the Edge》以及拿女人身上的胎记做文章的情歌《Birthmark》。

阿肯依靠《Freedom》从自己之前的成功之中继续摘取果实，无论是自己家庭在移民到美国的过程中遇到的麻烦还是他自己的成长烦恼，他希望所有这些不幸的故事能够在这张专辑里终结。在继续消沉下去和忘记一切、尽情享受人生之间，Akon选择了后者，在被关押（“Locked Up”）并且认罪（“Convicted”）之后，Akon决定通过这张专辑彻底与自己的灰色过去说再见。
